Carnival of Disaster - Grand City Carnival

Hina still in the dark about what was going on asks "What do you mean?"

Nemo didn't understand either, he had never heard of spirits being born. He just thought they existed. "When a mark goes without it's spirit for so long, it begins to form a new spirit," answered McFun. "So since you, Nemo, no longer have Blackwing, your powers are beginning to create a new mark spirit to replace him."

"Okay but why does the spirit want to kill Hina?" asked Nemo. How did McFun know that Blackwing was missing, he wanted to ask but that'd be getting away from the real topic.

"It's protecting itself," answered McFun, materializing a cup of coffee and taking a sip from the mug. "That's what I think anyways."

"Hina didn't do anything to it! It makes no sense!" shouted Nemo.

"I know it doesn't, but unless you want more blood to be shed I suggest you learn how to control it," suggested McFun.

"How?"

The coffee cup dematerialized and he leaned forward. "Princess, you and Sky go back to Nemo's apartment and grab his sword, I'll stay here and watch Nemo," ordered McFun.

Hina began to wonder what sword McFun was talking about. She then remembered that Nemo was almost always carrying a sword like a maniac for some reason for another. It was very weird for a person to carry a sword everywhere they went. Perhaps it was to cut people... Nemo seemed very cruel to be cutting up his subjects in Hina's imagination which made her shiver a bit.

Although she then began to wonder why they don't just grab one of the swords from the sword dancers in the carnival. Although if she was to annoy Nemo with her question, he might get angry and lash at her again with the dark energy.

Hina then looked around for the one named McFun called "Princess" to see who would be going to Sky. Although Princess was a girl's title, she didn't see any girl other than Sky around. Meaning he was refering to Nemo. McFun must be assuming the Nemo was actually a girl to hide himself from the public and that he must be watching him from here through a crystal ball or some mark ability.

It made sense. Although most people in the world think Nemo is a guy, but McFun must've been thinking past that thinking that it was all a ruse and that the prince was not a prince but actually a princess! Although Hina actually saw Nemo's nether regions so she knows by fact Nemo was a guy and not a flat chested girl.

Although she didn't feel like she should be correcting him so she thought that this was where they would part as Nemo obviously had something big waiting for him. So she began to wait for Nemo to walk out with Sky. "Goo-Good luck." Hina cheered for Nemo.

Nemo, Sky, and McFun all stared at Hina. "Um... Hina..." started Nemo. Trying to comprehend her pattern of thought. "I- I think he meant you go with Sky," said Nemo.

"Eh?" Hina looked at the three of them with in stupor trying to figure out where her logic went wrong. But assuming what Nemo said was true, then McFun refered to her as "Princess". If that was true, then he was thinking she was Nemo's sister, which she was not. She felt that she needed to correct him but she had wasted time due to her assumption. "Ah... Um... O-Okay!" Hina replied and then turned towards the doorway.

She then remembered her clothes' back was ripped and it would seem weird to come out without a back for her clothes. Although she was sure it was going to be fine. She could get back to Nemo's apartment and get back her old set of clothes before returning. She would be able to reclaim her clothes and get Nemo's sword at the same time. The plan was perfect.

"Um... We'll be going now then." Hina continued while pointing out the doorway. She then waited for Sky before heading towards Nemo's apartment.

Hiro finally catching up to Kira replied "I don't really know," Hiro then crossed his arms while tilting his head. "But I'm sure there will be an announcement saying when it'll be starting up again," he continued with confidence and then suggested "Why don't we go have some fun around the carnival while we wait!?" stretching his arms outward with a bright smile.

Sky left, following after Hina. After they were a good distance away from the first aid house, Sky spoke softly. "Hina... W- What do you think of Nemo? D- Do you like him?"

Hina became shocked at Sky's question. She was asking if she liked guys or girls better obviously.Hina became unsure of how to reply to her question. If she said that she liked Nemo, she would be admitting that she liked him and that would make the understanding grow bigger. If she said that she didn't, she would assume that she has no interest in guys and go for her.

Hina wasn't sure how to reply but this was not a question that she can dodge as there is still the walk back to the carnival. Although she had to keep Sky's nature at bay so she repied bluntly "Y-Yes." while looking away a bit.

"Then... I- I think we're rivals in love because..." she stopped, her eyes grew bigger, her demeanor changed and she became Abyss. "I love him too and I won't be beaten by a girl who just met him a few days ago."

"Eeeeh!?" Hina looked at Abyss with a shocked expression as she realizes that her theory that she she was a gay for her was false. She didn't know what to say in her stupor. "Ah... um... O-Okay?" She said trying to find a response.

It angered Abyss slightly that Hina seemed so condescending towards her but then she sighed. "It's not fair that you get to live with him, why couldn't it be me?" she said. It was then she felt someone tap on her shoulder and she turned around to face the person.

A teenager about Nemo's age stood behind them. "Hello, long time no see," he said with a smirk. Abyss recognized the person almost immediately. Raegis of the Bone, a year ago when Abyss had just joined the Discipline Committee she and Nemo got him expelled for misuse of his abilities.

"Raegis," she growled. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm here simply to exact my revenge on the prince, although I never expected you to be here too," answered Raegis, then his head turned toward Hina. "Ah, and you're the prince's girlfriend... This is great! If I capture you both, Nemo will for certain come after me!"

Abyss almost laughed, "You? Capture us? I'm sorry but you're outnumbered, besides Nemo is loads stronger then you."

"I'm not alone, other members of my group, Exile, are here as well! Also, my master has given me quite the power boost," said Raegis and then he lashed out at Abyss, a bone blade extending from his hand. Abyss barely had enough time to dodge it. Then, she grabbed Hina by the arm and pulled her away just as bones shot out from multiple parts of his body, impaling the air where Hina and Abyss used to be.

Abyss glanced down at her side, blood was coming out where one of Raegis' bones had scratched her. "You bastard, poison," she said as her vision flickered, she stumbled but didn't fall. "How..."

"I told you got a power up, a year ago I wouldn't be able to do what I just did but now I can," answered Raegis.

Abyss' breathing grew heavy and she could feel her conscience fading away. "Go... get Nemo... I'll hold him..." she ordered Hina.

Hina unsure of what was unfolding looked around dunfounded for a few seconds but she knew she had to get help. Unknown to her, for some reason Abyss wanted her to call Nemo instead of calling for the police to handle things. Although in her daze, Hina didn't realize this and instead began to run back to the carnival as per Abyss's order.

But what would happen to Nemo if she went back without his sword? Or worse, what would Nemo think of her if she just ran back without Abyss? Nemo would think she is the kind to desert her friends or leave her competetion to die just to win his affection.

She had to at least try and fight back. Although from simple analysis, it appears that Raegis can control and expand his bone. Although can he change the shape of it? Manipulating mass is a quality of a paper user as it folds to fit the user's needs. Meaning, if she used Paper as well, the attacks would nullify each other and she can test some things.

Jumping back a bit, Hina formed a wall in front of her and Abyss out of the concrete of the floor. Shortly afterwards, she placed her hands on the wall and shot out several stone daggers towards Raegis.

Raegis expanded his ribs, making them expand, interlocking them to wrap around his body to form a shield which easily blocked the oncoming daggers. Then his ribs retracted back, leaving holes in his skin that healed almost instantly. "Choosing not to go down without a fight are we?" asked Raegis.

Hina's distraction gave Abyss enough time to shift to Sky, heal herself and then shift back to Abyss. Her vision cleared as Sky's healing had also managed to remove the poison. Her breathing was still a little heavy as it took a lot of energy to switch multiple times in a short period. "Thanks for the distraction," she said. "but even as a team we aren't strong enough to take down Raegis."

Hina took note of what was happening as since her ability requires equivalent exchange, after she created the daggers, the wall had alot of holes and was quite thin. Raegis seems to have a auto-repairing skill much like Nemo's but is it automatic like Nemo's or is it an active like Sky's? So far, it appears that he cannot change the shape of his bones or else he could've just used one rib and created a shield with just that one while attacking with the others.

Bone is a very hard material so Rock might not be able to break it. It would also require her to go into melee range where his ribs can lock her inside. Meaning she would need to use Scissors to cut the bones. Even if he can heal, he can't regrow bones... maybe.

"We might be able to do something." Hina watched Raegis's movements. "His shield deflects long range projectiles and we can't get close to him due to the poison. So we need to strike him at mid-long range." She paused and then looked back at Sky who she got a fear of due to the earlier conversation. "Um... If that is a okay with you." Hina continued and then she formed another wall in front to see if she can stall for some time while they formulate a plan.

Abyss almost laughed, "I can't do anything without touching him and even then... I don't think I can do much besides break a few bones but there's still the chance that he can regenerate those..."

Raegis was starting to get annoyed by the fact that every time he tried to advance another wall popped up to block his bath. "You know you're only making it worse for yourselves by stalling!"

"Hm... If I use scissors, I can keep trying to cut his bones, and he would most likily use the shield to defend himself so you can get close enough to break it.,,, If you want to try that, it's okay." Hina stated.

"M- Mr. McFun! A group of intruders have forced their way into the carnival grounds!" shouted one of the carnival attendents, startling Nemo as he burst into the first aid shed. Nemo's first thoughts turned to Hina and Sky, it's possible they could be in trouble.

Nemo growled and pushed himself off a chair McFun had materialized for him and ran out the door, nearly knocking over the attendant. "Nemo! Wait!" McFun called after him, but he was already out of sight.


"Fine, but if this fails we're screwed," said Abyss running out from behind the wall.

Hina runs after Abyss while conjuring two blades of winds which she controlled in hand. It was the maximum she can control at the moment due to the mental strain required to keep track of them and to maintain their shape. After she got out and saw Raegis, she threw the two blade at Raegis. In mid-air, Hina caused the blades to rotate around a axis causing it to turn into a disk spinning towards Raegis. While running around to see how Raegis would react, she began to conjure two more.

Just as Hina had predicted, Raegis made a shield from his ribs to block the blades, this provided an opening for Abyss. "May pain be inflicted on you!" she shouted at the top of her lungs. Her palm made contact with the shield and suddenly, Raegis crumbled as many of his bone shattered and his muscular tissue ripped.

As Raegis fell, Abyss collapsed to her knees a feeling of relief swept over her. "It worked... It's over..." breathed Abyss. She'd put all her energy in tearing up his muscles and destroying almost every single bone in his body.

"Far from it," said the crippled form of Raegis. Then, he stood up in an awkward way as the insides of his body pieced themselves back and his muscles rippled as they reattached themselves to his skeletal system. "I refuse to lose to Nemo's little bitches." There was a glowing from Raegis' left thigh as bone began to form over his skin and his torn clothing. Horns forced themselves out of Raegis' skull. Raegis clenched his fist. "This form... It feels nice, I have my master to thank for enabling this," Then the bones formed a sword on the back of his hand and he raised it over his head. "Time to show you how it feels to be broken!" he shouted at Abyss who was paralyzed with fear.

Hina also stunned in fear almost lost concentration for the two blade that were in her hand. Upon regaining her senses on what was happening, she threw the blade in her left hand at Raegis. The untitled disk of wind Hina threw earlier was not able to scratch the bones to her dismay. If the shield made from the rib cage acted as a perfect guard, Raegis current armor must be just as hard.

Although Hina was not hoping to cut the armor, but rather counting on the possibility that Raegis didn't see her disk when it made contact with his shield and that he would block it. Due to his expanded chest, she might not have seen the point where the disk collided and the pain of having his skin and muscle tissues from being cut by the disk could've threw Raegis off from the disk's cutting potential.

Hina began to rush towards Abyss. In the possibility that he doesn't block, she needed to at least try and make sure she can get Abyss out of there using her now free hand. She can launch the blade of wind in her right hand at point blank to at least stall the bone sword from coming down by maybe half a second, but it would all depend on her reaction speed.

Nemo saw a group of rowdy delinquents wearing cloaks guarding the entrance of the carnival, harassing whoever came near. Hina and Sky didn't seem to be there, that meant that they must of already been off the carnival grounds. Nemo leaped over the group sending a blade of darkness crashing into them, smashing them into the ground. When he landed, his mark started burning, making him stumble but he wouldn't let that stop him. He felt so much more powerful, even more powerful then he felt with the sword at his side. The power was almost intoxicating.

Nemo ran on until he saw three people, two people he instantly recognized as Hina and Abyss. Abyss was on her knees in front of the person with the long horns. His eyes grew wide as he saw the blade being brought down towards her neck. "Abyss!" he shouted as loud as he could.

Hearing her name brought Abyss back to her senses just as Hina tackled her and brought her to the ground. "Nemo!" she shouted looking back towards the direction from which she heard the voice.

Raegis was about to try to strike again until he heard his mortal enemy's name. "Well, well, the pimp has finally decided to show up. I was getting tired of playing with your bitches," said Raegis walking by Hina and Abyss to meet Nemo.

Nemo growled. "What did you call them?" He recognized the person's powers. It was Raegis of the Bone but something about him was completely different.

"Oh you heard me, I know how you are! Those girls are both sluts lusting after your attention, whores they are! I heard them talking about how much they love you, it's piti-" Raegis stopped when Nemo's fist crashed into his face, partially covered by his bone shield. There was an explosion of darkness that shattered the bone over his face and sent him tumbling down the concrete street.

Anger filled Nemo, feeding the darkness inside him. His mark burned with excruciating pain but he could care less. The beast inside of him threatened to take control of him at any second but he didn't care. "How dare you..." muttered Nemo. Dark energy began flickering around his body. "How dare you insult them!" he shouted one last time as the darkness formed black wings on his back.

Raegis hopped to his feet as the bone over his feet regenerated. "No way..." said Raegis hopelessly. His master had taught him partial manifestation in an attempt to make him stronger then the prince. But Nemo knew how to manifest his spirit too, it wasn't fair! Raegis ground his teeth together. "Y- you arrogant little mother... I'll kill you!" he shouted.

In a burst of speed that exceeded normal human limits he charged at Nemo. Nemo however, didn't even flinch. In fact he smirked and raised a hand. "I wanna see you try!" Nemo laughed in an almost demonic sounding voice. Raegis's bone blade collided with a black barrier and shattered. "Oooooooh, this is going to be sooooo much fun!" shouted Nemo vanishing in a puff of blackness then appearing behind Raegis. Nemo jammed a hand through Raegis' bone armor and ripped out part of his of his spine. Immediately Raegis fell.

The sight almost made Abyss throw up. "T- that's not Nemo," said Abyss to Hina.

Hina stared at Nemo for a bit and then looked back at Abyss. "Of course that's Nemo, who else would have that same face, same hair, and same mark on his hand?"

"I mean on the inside, the Nemo I knew would never be so... Demonic," Abyss said, thinking of the correct way to describe how Nemo seemed right now. No, that wasn't Nemo, that was a monster.

Hina turned back to stare to Nemo. He seemed pretty normal after tearing out Raegis's spine. Although seeing Abyss as her senior, she can't really prove her wrong or else she might get mad at her. So Hina decided to agree with Abyss and said "O-Okay..." but she was sure Nemo would be just the same as before. So she called out to him in a low voice "Ne-Nemo?"

Nemo turned and glared at Hina. "I can finally kill you now," said Nemo, approaching Hina. He put a hand on her throat and lifted her into the air with ease. "The feelings you create inside Nemo are like poison to me, with you gone I can finally rule this body without his meddling."

Hina, dumbfounded at Nemo's current actions, couldn't figure out why Nemo would suddenly attack her. She wanted Nemo to stop but does she have the right to order around a prince? Although, as a citizen, she has the right to make requests so she pleaded "Pl-Please stop...." while grasping for air.

Immediately Nemo dropped Hina. The darkness around his body faded away as the new mark spirit faded away. Tears swelled up in Nemo's eyes as he realized what he'd just done. "I'm sorry..." said Nemo before turning away and running to nowhere.

Abyss got off the ground and stumbled after him. "I'm going after him! You should probably come too!" shouted Abyss as she hurried after Nemo who was already out of sight.

"Ah... Um..." Hina muttered as she wondered if it was right for her to chase after him. She had just made the prince cry and run away. Normally this should result in some time in the dungeon. Although since she made him cry, it was logical for her to appologize to him and that might lessen the punishment. "O-Okay." Hina continued and then also chased after Nemo.

Abyss tried to chase Nemo as long as possible, but Nemo was much faster then her and eventually she had to take a break to catch her breath. "Why does he have to be so fast!?" she asked. She leaned against a wall. "That thing that took over Nemo back there, I think I know how to get rid of it..." said Abyss to Hina.

Hina, not used to physical activity, grew tired faster than Abyss but she continued trying to follow after Abyss. So by the time she had caught up with Abyss, she was almost drenched in sweat and breathing much more heavily. "Wha... do you... mean?" Hina gasped. While she was trying to talk, she accidentally tripped on her own foot and fell into Abyss's breasts.

Abyss let out a moan. "N- No, stop!" she begged as Hina accidently fondled her breasts. She pushed Hina away, embarrassed. "Well..." she said, clearing her throat. "That monster seems to thrive on darkness, he said that the feelings that you and I make Nemo feel are like poison to him right? And what does poison do to people? It kills them, so what I think we should do is poison the monster inside him with positive feelings like l- love..."
