Carnival of Disaster - Grand City Carnival

Kira sighs, "Very well, since I don't truly care, we'll do it your way." Kira lifts her outside leg and holds on to Hiro. "But do you really have the strength to get both of us to the end by yourself?"

"Of course. I am a hero!" he says with confidence. In truth, Hiro also obtained a super strength mark moments before arriving to cheat in the Ring the Bell competition that he was hoping they would have and obtain a the biggest stuffed animal which he would give to the first girl he met back at base. Although when Hiro scanned the area, no such area existed, most likily because marks by themselves gave their owners a great physical boost already.

Nemo and Hina walked together, trying to coordinate their movements. Nemo found it easy to match with Hina as whenever she moved a leg he did it too. They lined up at the starting line, straight about a hundred yards Nemo could see the finish line.

McFun stood at the end of the line of contestants and shouted, "Rember the use of marks is strictly prohibited! If you're caught it will result in an immediate DQ! Now on your marks! Get set! Go!" The couples took off, except for a few who tripped and face planted into the ground.

While Kira was holding onto Hiro, he made pushed his foot on the ground and propelled himself forward. But due to the extra weight on the side, it caused him to miss the landing a bit and they fell on Kira's side. Hiro barely managed to stop their lip from colliding by stopping himself by pushing up on the floor.

"Ah... That was horrible." sighed Hiro but he knew that he had to stay positive if he wants to win this. "Okay, new plan! We roll to the finish line!" he declared and then he hugged onto Kira and began rolling with her to the finish line and dirtying her clothes on the floor.

Kira gets angry when she hits the ground and looks at Hiro, "Remember what I said, after this you will receive punishment, and for this disgusting plan you owe me money for dry cleaning." She grabs on to Hiro and begins to roll toward the finish line.

Nemo found running with Hina a lot more difficult then walking, as he had to find a way to match her speed considering the years of training had made him much faster then her. "We're going to win Hina!" he exclaimed as he approached the finish line. Then, the pain from earlier struck him again and he fell to the ground bringing Hina with him.

The same black aura buzzed around Nemo's body as some of the other racers stopped and looked to see what had happened. Then the urge came, the urge to kill Hina came once again. "G- get out of my head!" shouted Nemo as put both hands over his ears and shook out of fear.

No... a voice answered simply in his head.

Hina became flustered because she didn't know what to do. Due to Nemo's current state, she didn't want to leave him but her instincts told her to run away. Hina decided to stay with Nemo to try and comfort him but her words may not reach him due to the voice in his head and his hands. So the only other way would be by touch. So Hina decided to latch onto Nemo to see what would happen via a hug.

Hiro on the other hand. rolled with Kira pass Nemo and Hina since they could not see where they were going and eventually passed the finish line first. When Hiro saw a line on the floor, he realized they had passed the finish line so he jumped up with his arms raised and exclaimed "Yes! We did it!". He then turned around to see which place they were in but seeing no one except everyone behind them watching the scene unfold.

Hiro turned back to Kira on the floor and extended his hand to her. "Let's see what's going on over there."

Kira got off the ground, dusted off a little of the dirt from her blouse, and turned toward Hiro with a cold expression. "Time for your punishment." Kira pulls a small toy hammer from her pocket then using her mark of propagation, expanded it to the size of a bat and swung it at Hiro.

If Hiro was to block the attack with his arm, the hammer will hit the sleeve of the Coat of Midnight causing it to return to it's small size. It would reveal that he has the ability to negate marks. If he were to use some other ability in the tournament, people might question him having two abilities causing him to have to reveal that his coat has the ability to negate marks. Although non-believers might ask him to take off his coat to prove it and thus reveal that he has more than one mark after seeing his body with the coat off.

So Hiro decided to let the attack go through and thus the hammer slammed directly into Hiro's face. Hiro was then knocked down onto the floor by the resulting force. Hiro then turned to Kira and sobbed as he said "Waa! Dating abuser!"

Kira scoffed at Hiro's comment, "Please, like I would date a worthless piece of dung in the middle of a country dirt road that even the cows avoid." She then put away her hammer and looked over at one of the other competitors. "So what IS going on over there?"

Kira's words felt like daggers that pieced his heart causing him to fall into a depression as he lied on the floor. He then began lie in wait there for cows to avoid him.

Although doing so means that he'll miss the rest of the carnival, so Hiro placed his hands on the floor and pushed himself upwards. He then stared into Kira's eyes and replied "You poor thing!" and then hugged her. She was missing out on things in life. Since, for once in her life, she must date a worthless guy.

Kira got flustered and pushed Hiro away. "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!?!?" She pulls out her hammer again and starts beating Hiro with it but after the first blow to the shoulder it reverted back. "Wha....what just happened?"

This is bad! Hiro thought as the fact her hammer reverted back meant that he had either the ability to negate marks, or something similar or the same as Kira's. Although since Hiro can't really deduce what Kira's mark is at the moment, he decided to dodge the question and pretend he was lagging behind on the conversation. He than said "I don't know, but see what's going on over there!" so he grabbed her right hand and began to pull her with him to the scene.

Kira still in a bit of a daze from her hammer reverting back began to think. Did he do that? or maybe while flustered I did it, but if he did do it, why didn't he do it the first time I hit him, this boy is more then meets the eye. But in the current situation she couldn't do anything, so she just let him drag her over.

The black energy grew sharper, unintentionally cutting the bonds that held Nemo's leg to Hina's. Then, the black energy turned itself on Hina, scratching her back as she hugged Nemo. As soon as McFun realized what was happening, he ran through the crowd and knelt and Nemo's side.

He tried to reach into the blackness, but it futile as it gathered to push his hand away. Then he saw the princess being attacked by the darkness. "You've got to let go of him!" he shouted. This was bad, really bad. Nemo's uncontrolled powers were trying to give birth to a new mark spirit. He had to do something, but he couldn't with the princess holding onto him like that.

Hina felt slight pain as the dark energy lashed on her back. Hina heard the words of McFun but she felt that she needed to stay by Nemo. "Ne-Nemo! Please stop!" Hina pleaded to Nemo. Suddenly another lash struck her causing Hina to start shedding tears as she almost couldn't bear the pain.

Hiro lets go of Kira and then began to run up to Nemo and then jumps several feet into the air due to his super strength mark. As he fell towards Nemo, he put his fist out in front to punch Nemo in the jaw. "What gives you the right to makes your girlfriend cry!?" Hiro said as he flew down towards Nemo.

Cry? Nemo directed his eyes toward Hina who had started crying. She's crying... He didn't know what was happening or who was trying to take him over but whatever it was made Hina cry. Nemo used everything he had to push the thing out once again.

The black energy collapsed into Nemo and exploded with enough force to push everyone nearby except for Hina away. Then, Nemo felt better. The strange intruded had vanished just as quickly as it had come. "Don't worry Hina, it's gone now... that... thing..." he muttered quietly as he offered her a weak smile.

Hina let out a sigh as Nemo returned to normal. Although the fact that Nemo was very tired worried her. Although with everyone knocked away by the sudden burst of energy, Hina couldn't really see who was it that called out to them. Although McFun was still alive so the contest can go on and she can help Nemo get the candy he wants.

Hiro, who was sent flying away by the force, could've done a back flip and landed safely on the ground. Although if he were to do it, it might arouse suspicion as it would show off how athletic he was. So he decided to let fate take it's normal course as he flies towards Kira. Although instead of hitting her, due to the angle of reflection, he landed short of hitting her. Thus Hiro landed a few inches away from Kira but then slid on the ground until friction stopped him while he was directly under Kira's skirt. "Oh! So that's what color it is," Hiro said nodding with his right hand on his chin "Good job!" he then raised a thumbs up to Kira while still lying on the floor.

Kira got flustered by Hiro's comment and used her boot to stomp on his stomach a few dozen times followed by kicking him and walking away. "If men are swines, then foreign men are slimes. hmph."

Hiro grunted in pain whenever Kira stomped him and the final kick left him moaning. "Medic!" He cried out for help while raising one hand grasping towards the sky. His hand then plopped down onto the ground a few seconds later. He then lied there waiting to see if anyone will come to help him.

McFun pushed himself off the ground after being knocked back. "Come with me," he told Nemo. "We're going to the first aid area to talk and to get the little princess fixed up," he said as he walked away.

Nemo was slightly confused by McFun's change in personality. "What about the competition?" asked Nemo, pushing himself away from Hina and making an attempt to stand. At first when he stood he thought he was going to fall but then he managed to catch himself. Then he looked at Hina, blood was coming out of her back where the black energy had scratched her. He'd done that to her? Nemo felt horrible but it was over now... Hopefully.

"I'll carry you so you don't have to walk, you're probably hurt," said Nemo as he knelt down and put his arms under her.

Hina's back still stung from all the lashing Nemo gave her. Perhaps Nemo was punishing her because she wasn't running in tune with him. The rampage could've been because he was so angry with her that he lost all control of himself. Hina felt a slight depression as she hopes this wasn't true.

When she felt her back to find out how serious Nemo's attack were, she felt something wet. When she took a look at her hand, it was of a crimson red. She had ruined the clothes Nemo gave her! Blood stains don't come out easily either. Hina began to sulk as she imagines what she would need to do to pay him back for the damages.

When Nemo asked to carry her, Hina looked at Nemo will a sullen expression as she imagines what kind of scolding Nemo would give her. She needed to apologize to him as quickly as possible or else he might get even more angry with her and then go out on a rampage and start attacking her again. "No... Y-You don't need to. I'll get there myself." she said as she slowly tried to get up.

Hiro on the other hand, stood up realizing that Kira didn't come back to help him. "You're so mean~!" He declared in Kira's direction and then began running towards her.

Nemo looked at the pained expression on Hina as she tried to get up and then quickly swept her up in his arms. "No you're too hurt to walk," said Nemo. "Besides... It's my fault you got hurt..." It hurt him to say it, because he never wanted to hurt her. "T- there's a monster inside me Hina," he admitted with tears coming to his eyes. "And it wants you dead."

"Eh?" Hina eyes lit up at Nemo's bold statement and she started to blush as she was being carried in Nemo's arms. So to distract herself of the blushing, she decided to figure out what Nemo was implying.

By monster inside him, it can refer to many things. Although she was somewhat glad that is was not the little monster on him, she was worried about the monster in him which led her to think that the monster he was referring to is his inner rage. She had remembered several instances that she had made mistakes around Nemo and troubled him leading her to believe he is getting angry that such things were happening because of her.

So Nemo must be getting so angry at her that he wanted to kill her. Although Nemo was too shy to say so and sugar coated it to monsters and such to scare her. "I-I'll be sure to not make you angry more." Hina replied after clasping her hands together.

"What are you talking about?" asked Nemo as they followed after McFun. "I'm not angry at you, why would I?"

"Because I um... there was that time er-" Hina tried looking for the right words that would make the most sense. "I seem troubling you. Like now..." Hina replied whist looking downward and twiddling her fingers..

Kira looks at Hiro who was following her and sighs, "So, what is the next event and where will it be, I want to finish this, get my information, and get away from you."

Nemo sighed. No matter what he said he couldn't get Hina to realize that he was the one causing trouble, not her. "You're such an idiot..." he muttered. "Nothing you do could ever trouble me," said Nemo as he followed close to McFun.

"In here," said McFun turning into a small building that had a little First Aid sign outside of the door. "Lay her there on her side," ordered McFun, pointing to a single cot. Nemo sat Hina on her side so she was facing a concrete wall.

"Sky! We've got someone who needs attention!" shouted McFun. Nemo raised his head at the mention of Sky's name. The petite girl stepped out of the storage closet, dressed in a nurses uniform.

"Y- yes sir?" she asked, then she spotted Nemo and made an attempt to hide her face with a clipboard. "N- Nemo..."

"Hey Sky," said Nemo smiling at her. Then he stepped out of the way and let Sky see Hina. Immediately Sky put her clipboard down and ran a hand across the wounds. A second later they healed leaving nothing, not even a scar.

Hina stared at Sky in amazement of her ability. Although she began to wonder why Sky was hiding her face when she approached them. Unlike last time, she was very shy about approaching them. Why would that be? There is only one logical explaination!

She's a lesbian! Hina thought to herself. It all made sense. At this point, her back was laid bare for all to see and that would make complete sense on why she was embarassed to see them. How could Hina break it to her senior that the feeling isn't mutual? So Hina decided to let try and make Sky not like her as much but not much that she would hate her. Although Sky seems to be very delicate right now. "Ah... Um... Th-thank you." Hina couldn't find the courage to break Sky's heart at the moment but in the future she might be able to.

"Your welcome..." she said, flashing a soft smile towards Hina before turning to Nemo. "W- what happened?" asked Sky shyly.

Nemo shrugged. "I don't know... T- there was this thing... It tried to take me over and tried to kill Hina."

"I know what that was," said McFun, sitting in a comfy chair that he must've materialized out of nowhere. "It was a newborn mark spirit."
