2nd Day of School

Jack goes about his business like usual, going to class, training, stabbing his friend in A who has a passive regeneration mark. Just a usual day at school.

Rabiel went to the library like usual during lunch but because he was up late last night worrying about his mark so he fell asleep. When he woke up the day was done, instead of worrying about what he missed he decided just to go out and get something to calm his nerves. He went to a bakery in town and bought a cream cheese pastry and a cup of straight espresso.

As Ai was walking through town, she overhears girls talking and hears them say "...go try out the pastries in that bakery over there..." and interprets that as a order. She then heads over to the bakery Rabiel was in and stares at the pastries in the Bakery.

The clerk then looks at Ai with a smile and asks "May I help you?"

Ai looks back and replies "I'm here to try out these pastries." as she points to all the pastries being offered.

The clerk then looked at Ai with amazement and then replies "Um... Okay." and then proceeds to take out one of every pastry they offered. After ringing up the total, she asked "To stay or to go?"

Ai then stared at the clerk and the clerk stared back at her. "Ai don't know." she replied and then a perplexed expression appeared on the clerk's face. "What do you think I should do?" she then asked the clerk.

The clerk then looked back and said "Um... You should... uh..." It was the first time a customer asked her this. Eating here meant that the customer would also pay more to eat-in, so for the sake of the buisness, she replied "Eat here?"

"Okay." Ai replied. It was a simple okay. She added nothing else.

The clerk then totaled the cost of everything and said, "This will cost one gold and 72 silver coins"

Ai replied with a "Okay." and then took from her pocket exactly one gold and 72 silver coins and then gave them to the clerk. She then in turn gave her the boxes filled with one of every pastry offered. Ai suddenly began to be unbalanced as she carried the boxes.

She then began to set them all down on a table near Rabiel and began eating everything one by one.

Rabiel sips his coffee while thinking of what approach he should take next in dealing with his eye. he took out a note book he used to keep track of all the methods he'd learned on uncontrollable marks and mark control.

From what I've figured out my best bet to control my mark would be a mystical item that enhances mark control, but to buy one would cost a small fortune. The other option is to unleash the seal and train it slowly, but if I accidentally used it on a person or animal I'm not sure what I would do.

Rabiel sighed and looked around the shop. A few other students from his school were buying some pastries, a young man was writing something in a notebook. and a young girl around his age was eating some pastries in a seat near him.

Streek materializes at a table in a corner with a box of.. umm.. fairly retrieved donuts, and hiding his glances around the place behind a newspaper that floated off of the newsstand and walked away, much to the stand's owner's surprise.

Streek pays particular attention to the older woman who just bought one of everything, for over 1 gold. He also notices another guy, somewhat shady looking, looking in a notebook.

Ai while eating one of her donut turns to see a Rabiel looking around. Her request was merely to try out the pastries so she had no other use for it after she took a bite out of it and she was taught to always be nice and share. She turned to face him and offered him the donut she just took a bite out of.

Rabiel stares at the donut for a second and then looks at the bite. Indirect kiss with a random strange girl, should I take it or not? Should I cut off the bite parts or not? Is that rude or not? The longer I think about all this the more awkward the moments going to be...I should hurry up and make a decision. Rabiel took the donut. "Thanks..."

Rabiel takes a bite then feels embarrassed. He quickly takes a sip of his espresso causing him to choke a little bit. When he recovers he looks at the girl again noticing her scarf.

"Why are you wearing a scarf in late summer?"

Ai then responded with "Cause someone told me to." and then took out another pastry from the boxes. This time it was a cupcake and again she only took one bite and offered it to Rabiel again.

Rabiel thought what she just said was strange but decided not to question it. He takes the cupcake and repeats the same process this time without choking on his coffee. "Thanks again, I'm Rabiel Vieres, I take it you aren't from around here?"

"Yes, I'm not." Ai replies. She then takes a cookie from the box and then takes a bite out of it. She then offers it to Rabiel again.

"Am I not good enough for your cookies, miss?" Streek intercedes, walking over and sitting on a table next to the two. Streek laughs before continuing.

"I actually have a question for you, miss. If I asked for you to give me all of your money, would you give it to me?" Streek neglects to order her to do anything, to see if his guess was right. Streek realized earlier that she only ate in after nearly being commanded to, and how she said that someone had told her to wear a scarf. Streek believes she has to, or very strongly WANTS to, follow every order.

"No and no." Ai replies as the places the cookie back inside the box and then takes another pastry from the box. It was a muffin which she then takes a bite and then offers it Rabiel again.

Rabiel takes the muffin and simply nibbles on it while he watches the stranger who just appeared.

Streek feels his switchblade twitch and smirks at the girl. "Well then, may I?" Streek asks and takes the offered cookie before continuing. "Now would you please tell me the truth?" Streek smirks at her innocently. "Lying isn't nice, y'know."

This girl's order-following thing is odd, but now I'm sure I'm right. She does have to follow orders. Or, she wants to. Still a possibility. But she definitely lied about not giving me her money if I asked.

"Maybe." Ai responds and then reaches into her boxes and takes out a strawberry short cake. She then proceeds to take a bite out of it and sees Rabiel still nibbling on the muffin from earlier so she gestured it to Streek instead.

Streek accepts the shortcake sets it down on his plate, then sets it down on Rabiel's table.

"Clever miss. May I know your name?"

"Yes you may." Ai replies and then takes out another pastry from her boxes. This time it was a grape shortcrust. She takes one bit out of it and offered it to see which one of them will take it.

Streek rolls his eyes before he says, "Miss, do believe that there is no need to eat or share all of these tasty pastries.." Streek looks over at the other guy who doesn't look like he wants to eat anything else for a little while and gives a small laugh.

"Oh, and tell me your name, please" Streek sticks his tongue out at the girl, who he realizes actually does not look older, but around the same age as he does.

While still offering the shortcrust in her hand, she replies with a "Okay." and began believing there is no need to eat or share all the pastries. She then places the shortcrust back inside the box and takes out one of a different flavor which she takes a bite out of.

"Ai Nobara." She replies to Streek after she swallowed it. She then offers the other rest of the shortcrust to Streek.

Streek politely refuses her offer.

"Ai, eh? Well, Miss Ai," Streek phases out of sight. "Perhaps I will see you again." He whispers in her ear before taking a quick glance around, noting the other guy's first name, Rabiel, and leaving the Patisserie.

Rabiel finished his muffin and espresso and looked at Ai. "Thanks for the sweets, it's been a pleasure talking with you, but now I must leave, I have important things to research." With that Rabiel leaves and heads toward the dorm

After being left alone, Ai continued to take one bite of every pastry that she bought. Eventually it was time for the store to close. The store owner eventually came up to her and saw her taking a bite out of every pastry before putting it back into the box.

"Miss, are you some kind of food critic?" He asked.

"No." She replied and then offered the box of what she had bitten already to the store owner. The store owner didn't know how to reply to the sudden gift by Ai.

"Um... we're closing soon so can you leave?" He asked.

"Yes." She replied and then continued on her process of tasting each pastry. She stayed in her seat as the manager watches Ai continue tasting each pastry.

"Are you going to leave?" the manager asked with a quizzical expression.

"Yes." Ai responded and then her taste test.

"Please leave, we're closing down for the day." The manager pleaded and just as he was, Ai took the last bite of the last thing they offered.

"Okay." Ai replied and then got up and began leaving.

"Hey! Don't you want these?" He asked referring to the pastries.

"Ai don't know." Ai replied and then left the bakery as she needed to prepare to transfer into Phoenix Magus Academy soon.
