First Day of School -- Detention Hall

September 1st, 792:

The window in the room 2F opens about 5 minutes into Detention. A sleepy Streek climbs off of the second story windowsill, to a collective gasp from the students inside.

"Hey Teach! Just woke up, mind if I chill here?" asks Streek as he ruffles his hair.

The teacher hands Streek a detention and points to an empty seat next to a guy Streek's age. Streek walks over to the chair, winking at a pretty second year on his way.

Jack woke up looked up from his paper with a blank stare, coming back from his thoughts. He looks at the boy next to him.

Unkempt look, stupid grin on his face, common characteristics here

"Hi, why are you here on this fine day?"

Jack makes casual small talk to relieve the boredom of the paper and to take his mind off of that strange dream last night.

"Are you talking to me?" Streek replies with a purposely stupid grin on his face. "Oh, I've been here since... Well, since school started this morning, really. I believe it was you who woke me up, slamming the door on your way in." Streek explains.

"So. Is there any sort of assignment we have to do here, or are we supposed to be making drool art?" Streek asked with another stupid grin.

This guy looks pretty powerful. Could be a useful ally. Definitely need to find out more..

Jack thought about his explanation but then decided that he didn't really care all that much and went about to answering his question.

"My teacher told me to write a report about my Mark's abilities, the usual crap."

Jack then introduced himself as a third year in the B-class and asked for the boy's name

"Name's Streek. Second, D. Though I'd be B or maybe A-Class if I showed my true power to the school. Definitely more fun this way though. Man I'm bored. Wanna bounce?" Streek answers.

Streek looks over to see the Prof. paying no attention at all.

Here's my chance!

Jack looks at Streek suspiciously, then looks at his paper, he finished it while day dreaming so he has no real reason to stay anymore. Jack puts his name on it and looks at Streek.

"Sure, know of anywhere I can get something cheap to eat?"

"You're damn right I do mate!" Streek replies in a fake Australian accent.
"This has to work perfectly, do you hear me?" Streeks tells Jack in a quiwt and very serious voice. "If it doesn't, they'll boost me up and that's no fun."

Jack looks at him curiously.

"You mean you're going to use your power to bust us out of here?

Jack thinks about telling him that they both could just walk out since he's done with his work and Streek isn't actually in trouble, but then he decides this is a good time to see someone's powers

"Yeah, but be quieter. In exchange I want your paper on your power's." Streek bargained, holding out his hand nonchalantly.

"Umm....no", Jack replied. He then stood up and walked to the front of the class hands the teacher his paper, the teacher motioned towards the door, Jack bowed slightly and opened the door, he turned back and looked at sleet, then grinned and walked out

Streek looks down and grins slyly to himself.

I'm going to have to really work on this relationship..

He throws his voice, a skill that he used to find really useful on the streets, to the hall, and the teacher got up to see what all the noise was.
"First time in a while that I've done that.. Worked great, ha." he mumbles quietly to himself.

As soon as the teacher is out, Streek activates his invisibility, gets out of his seat, and walks up to the desk to grab his new "friend's" paper. After double-checking the paper, Streek walks past the puzzled teacher at the door and after Jack.

Jack walked down the hall ways to the front of the building. As he walked he heard foot steps, he looked back to see Streek catching up. Jack paused for a sec to wait.

"Surprised you followed through the front door instead of the window. So where are you taking me?"

"Yeah, you know. I like to shake it up a bit. C'mon, you hungry? I know a place that sells some good Ray-era 'hot dogs,' ever had one?" Streek walks out the front door with Jack trailing him, making small-talk and bad jokes on the way out.

Walking down the street, Streek sees the second year that he winked at earlier.
"Hey, bet I coul-" Streek starts to say as a police officer stops the two.

"Hello boys. Whatcha doin', hmm?" asks the officer.

"Oh, nothing sir. We were just coming back from school," Streek smiles at the Officer, "we were just walking home, officer."

Jack sighed at Streek's flirtatious personality.

"So, what exactly IS a Ray-era hotdog, I'm bad with onions so I hope it isn't a City style."

Jack cringed at the thought of onions.

"Man, f***ing pigs." Streek says, referring to the officer now walking away. "Can't stand them.. oh, yeah they're New York-style. When I was younger I had a friend who didn't like onions. But the owner used to make her dogs without.. onions.." Streek nearly loses his composure but quickly regained it.

"You can get a good dog sans-onions, for sure." Streek informs Jack.

Jack tries to comprehend what he was just told, but then he decides to just ask to ease his confusion.

"Few questions, Why did you stutter for a second, what does sans-onions mean, and where is it?"

After Jack finishes he realize he may of just sounded like a douche and should probably apologize....but then he decides it would be embarrassing and annoying so he shrugs it off and keeps walking.

"Sans means without, of course." Streek explains, ignoring Jack's first question. "You can get some good dogs with no onions on 'em. Oh, here we are." Streek points at a small diner with a few people inside.

Jack walked in with Streek and took a seat. He looked over the menu an decided instead of getting a hotdog he wanted soup instead so he orders a bowl of tomato soup. Jack then placed his attention on Steek.

"So now for the real question, why did you take my paper?"

Streek orders a loaded hot dog before answering. "What paper? I didn't take anything, mate." Streek smiles innocently at Jack. "I am definitely no thief. Well..." Streek laughs before pulling out Jack's short essay. "Is all this true, by the way?"

Jack looks at the paper and tries to remember what he wrote.

"Most of it is true, except how I deal with my weaknesses, I don't even know how I do that, when your power requires long battles you have to just go on instinct to find a way around an obstacle."

Jack snatches the paper.

"Anyway, thanks for showing me this place, I need to rush back to the school to turn this in so I can show I was in detention today, I may see you at the dorm later"

Jack puts some money on the table and rushes out the door toward the academy.

"You won't see me, but I may be seeing you. God I sound creepy." Streek mumbles and then laughs at himself before finishing his hot dog and taking Jack's money from the table.

Streek checks his pocket for the copy he made of Jack's essay and then heads back to his dorm room.

Jack got to the school, ran to the detention hall, and explained. That his paper was taken from the teach's desk. Jack then headed to the dorms to end the day.
